UC, 10-4 overall (2-1 Big East) fell to Pitt at Fifth Third Arena tonight.
Ashton Gibbs paced Pitt with 19 points and Gilbert Brown added 17 points off the bench. Deonta Vauhgn had 17 points for Cincinnati.
Cincinnati was hoping to start off Big East play 3-0 for the first time in team history.
Cincinnati doesn't have much time to dwell on the defeat. The Bearcats host Cal State Bakersfield Wednesday night before returning to Big East play against Seton Hall on Saturday.
